This page is intended to provide some answers to the most commonly-asked questions. Feel free to contact Wendy for more information regarding your upcoming session or event!

* Do you have set prices for different types of sessions?

Yes and no! WZP offers guidelines which act as a foundation for pricing, but often times, a custom package or pricing option is best for you. A lot of factors go into pricing — the final product (gallery versus prints versus an album or USB), the amount of time (only ceremony photos from a small wedding versus 12-hour days) and much more. Wendy holds frequent specials or discounts through her Facebook and Instagram pages, too, so make sure you’re following her there. (See the Contact page)

For standard sessions, expect about $150 for a two-hour session, editing, online gallery and digital rights. Wedding packages start at $1,200 and range dramatically depending on the final product and length of day, so let’s talk!

*Why is wedding photography so expensive?

Sigh. I wish it wasn’t! There is a lot that goes into capturing perhaps the most important days of your life!

Equipment (a DSLR camera can cost $2,000 and lenses are about half of that sometimes! Not to mention props, insurance, memory cards, editing programs, etc!)

Time (Travel to and from the event or session, uploading photos, culling and editing, creating galleries, assisting orders, creating specialty products, etc)

Training and Expertise (Wendy attends trainings, takes part in mentorings, takes online classes and does all she can to gain more inspiration and knowledge to make your photos even better!)

Wendy does not do significant upcharging for products ordered and does not charge for mileage or other costs.

* I live far away from your area! Does this mean we can’t work together?

Well, it depends! I still visit Central and Northeast PA several times a year and have many family and friends there, so photo sessions there are quite easy to manage.

I also have contacts or frequent visits to: Woodstock, NY/Hudson Valley, western Massachusetts and Boston.

It never hurts to ask! I love the opportunity to meet a new family, so if timing works out, we could be a good fit for one another!

* Do you have any preferred vendors?

WZP has recently begun teaming up with Candice of Patchwork Planning. Candice does event and wedding planning months out or the day of and does a fantastic job! She also offers a discount to any WZP couples! In the Philly area, Wendy loves to work with and recommend Stacey Sherman of SKRS Photography. In the Pittsburgh area, Sara Blose of Bonafide Photography is a great photographer!

* Help! I don’ know what to wear for our session!

There are a couple of things to keep in mind.

Firstly, your background. If the session is outdoors in fields or with a lot of trees, a green or brown could get lost. Same with blues around water, greys around buildings or an urban backdrop. We don’t want you to blend in!

If there are several people involved, like for a family shoot, it’s a good idea to pick one or two dominant colors for your session and then weave one or both of those into everyone’s ensemble, even if it’s just with an accessory like a scarf or bracelet. Avoid going too matchy-matchy.

Layers and accessories like chunky necklaces, etc, photograph really well and offer some variety with posing, etc.

* What is included with your wedding packages?

–  A pre-wedding consult (Coffee’s on me!)

– Any assistance in finding other vendors

– Discounted Mary Kay products and free samples and makeup advice

– A two-hour engagement session with multiple outfits, locations and any theme(s) requests

– Online galleries for both sessions (about 40-50 engagement images, at least 300 wedding images), which can be downloaded, shared or ordered

* What is a second shooter and do you offer them?

Great question, and I’m really excited about this! I have teamed up with some equally-talented photographers who are able to provide additional angles and a variety of photos at weddings that I cannot accomplish on my own. For a full-day additional fee of about $250 or a $150 half-day fee, you get us both! (My second shooters also act as my back-up if needed, so I trust them dearly!)

* What’s the turnaround time?

For standard sessions (engagement, boudoir, family, etc), online galleries will be shared within 10 days. For weddings or special events, please allow about three weeks.

Albums, prints and other products will be delivered to you within two weeks of approval and ordering.

But don’t worry, with your permission, I’ll post a couple of sneak peeks within days of our session online.

* How can I reach you?

Many ways! E-mails are great 24-7 and I promise to always respond within 36 hours! You can text or call, too, just not after 8 p.m. please.
